The Technology Director of a prominent school district in central Texas was concerned about the inadequate security measures in place for the keys that opened certain classrooms and areas with sensitive, expensive computer servers and other tech equipment. To address this, they wanted a system that would allow them to assign keys to authorized users only, and enable them to conduct a thorough audit of the assigned keyholders.
Upon introducing RA-Lock’s capabilities to the Technology director, we scrutinized the school district’s current key management system and deliberated how they wanted to enhance it. Next, we displayed our Key Systems Security Asset Manager (SAM) and its advantages. His qualm was addressed by informing him that we could add either a proximity card reader or a biometric fingerprint reader to the unit, enabling dual authentication to access the keys inside. To further ease his mind, we detailed that access was allocated to one or more users based on configuration through the GFMS software. He was so impressed with the idea that he was ready to buy a unit right away.
The Technology director was elated after installing the SAM and training the administrators on its use. Their expensive and sensitive servers and other technology equipment were now safe, monitored in real time. The school board was impressed with the director’s efforts to protect the district’s recently updated technology assets. With a simple GFMS software report, the district now had the capability to audit who accessed its technology equipment in minutes, saving them from facility charges due to lost keys and hundreds of dollars in potential theft or damage.
