Authorized users can conveniently access their keys from the key box at work daily, and if the keys aren’t returned within the designated period, supervisors are instantly alerted about the occurrence. It’s common for students to leave their keys in their rooms or misplace them. In student housing facilities, a key box serves as a secure method for storing spare keys needed to access students’ rooms. The Resident Assistant on-site can retrieve the room key from the secure key box to aid student access. This also notifies the staff about a potential lost key, enabling immediate rekeying of the room to maintain the student’s safety.
With the implementation of the new key management system, the University has enhanced its security and streamlined the process for re-keying. Both students and staff are now safer, and the institution is satisfied with the cost reductions achieved through minimizing the replacement of lost keys.
